A transition is a small video segment overlapping with another video segment of the same length, on which a special effect involving a geometrical and/or a temporal operation is introduced.

To introduce a transition to an edited video, use the Insert button. This will bring up a dialog window where you will select a number of parameters including a special effect operator.

Usually, a transition is added over the segment connecting two different video clips. Occasionally, it may be desirable to insert a transition into a continuous video segment. In this case, the video segment will be broken up into two segments at the selected insertion frame. The two segments will then be connected with a transition. As a result, the length of the transition will reduce the total length of the video.

Currently, the editor has included a small list of special effect operators.
